ABOUT JOE

Joe Schofield has bartended and lived in numerous countries across the globe. He currently splits his time working around the world with his projects; Schofield’s Bar, Sensorium and Asterley Bros.

Joe opened Schofield’s Bar in 2021 with his brother Daniel which went on to win the 2023 Bar of The Year Award at the coveted Class Magazine Bar Awards. The Schofield brothers are co-authors of Schofield’s Fine and Classic Cocktails, and Joe is brand ambassador for the Swiss luxury kitchen appliance brand, V-ZUG, exploring the relationship between kitchen and bar.

In July 2018, Joe was awarded International Bartender of The Year at the Tales of The Cocktail Spirited Awards, shortly followed by the prestigious Bartender’s Bartender award at The World’s 50 Best Bars 2018.

Establishing himself as one of London’s bartenders-to-watch, leading to placements at internationally renowned cocktail bars such as The American Bar (No. 1, The World’s 50 Best Bars 2017) and Tippling Club, Singapore, where he worked with chef patron Ryan Clift - it was here the bartender-chef duo created their multi-award winning, multisensory menu concepts and what is believed to be the World’s First edible cocktail menu in the form of Gummy Bears.

Joe joined Asterley Bros. as creative director in 2019, bringing their own brand of aperitif to the market, Schofield’s Dry Vermouth.

In June 2023, Joe was placed in the Bar World 100’s Most Influential Industry Figures.
